The World Youth Chess Championships have started in Montesilvano, Italy

The World Youth Chess Championships have started in Montesilvano, Italy, for age groups not older than 14, 16, and 18 years.

The Kazakhstani delegation is represented by 31 young chess players at the Championships. Three initial rounds have been already played. The most experienced players have had the best start to the Championships. Aldiyar Ansat, Edgar Mamedov, Xeniya Balabayeva, and Zarina Nurgalieva have won all three of their initial matches and are leading in their respective age groups.

Ergali Suleimen, Suat Nurgaliev, Ayaulym Kaldarova, and Elnaz Kaliakhmet have performed with 2.5 points,. Twelve of our young chess players have earned 2 points out of a possible 3.

The Championships will continue until November 24th.
