Team Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Chess for Under 16 Years
The championship will take place in the city of Kostanay from November 30 to December 5, 2023, at the following address: Kostanay, Al-Farabi Avenue.
The credentials committee will be held on November 30, 2023, from 15:00 to 17:00 at the "Youth Sports School of Chess," located at Al-Farabi Avenue 72.
Teams that do not pass the credentials committee will not be allowed to participate in the competition.
A technical meeting for team representatives will be held on November 30, 2023, at 17:00.

The tournament features one team from each regional center of Kazakhstan, as well as cities of republican significance, including Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent. The tournament is a team event, with each team consisting of 4 participants (the first 3 boards are for boys, and the fourth board is for a girl), and the substitution of a boy with a girl is allowed. Each team includes two reserve players. Participants born in 2007 or later are eligible to participate in the tournament.
To participate in the tournament, you must submit your application no later than November 25, 2023, specifying the main and reserve participants and the team captain. The application should include the last name, first name, age, gender, FIDE ID, and a medical certificate for each participant.
The tournament follows a Swiss team system with 7 rounds, following FIDE rules. The tournament format is "wall to wall." Ten minutes before the start of each round, the team captain must provide the team lineup, including possible substitutions, to the chief arbiter. The seating arrangement is strictly according to the submitted lineup.
The winners of the team competition are determined by the highest number of team points accumulated in all rounds. In case of a tie in points between two or more teams, the winners are determined based on the following additional criteria:
1) The highest number of points scored by all team members.
2) Buchholz coefficient.
3) Head-to-head results.
Board winners are determined by the highest number of individual points scored, and in case of a tie in points, the higher place is awarded to the player whose team achieved a higher position in the team competition.
Individual awards are given based on the best results by board.
